About the band and this record
The Action were one of Canada's first punk bands, formed in Ottawa in 1977: Ted Axe (vocals), John Fenton and Paul Fenton (guitars), Michael Fenton (bass), Shot Spot MacDonald (drums). In 1978 they opened for the Ramones and supported The Stranglers on their first North American tour. This is their debut 12" EP (Montreco EPMRC 3007, Montreal, 1978), in the label's generic "Punk Rock" die-cut sleeve: the title track "TV's On The Blink" — a cult classic, later picked up on the Killed By Death #26 compilation — "Down Town Boy", a cover of the Velvet Underground's "Waiting For The Man", and "Do The Strangle".

Open copy note: the sleeve has a ballpoint inscription in the top right corner reading "Best Wishes" with a signature — possibly a band member's autograph (not verified).
